Swimming/kiwi sport

LI. To learn about water safety

For our last swimming lesson we were learning how to use a live jacket.A live jacket helps us to swim and float and it saves us from drowning. Then we had to spit into one whole group. Then we had to make a chain using everyone.The next thing we did was swim from one side to the other using live jacket. Then we had to put our hand at the back of our heads and put our other hand next to our arm then we pencil dived in the water.

Maths

LI: To apply Inquiry, Literacy, and numeracy skills to learn about the RWC.

This week we are applying our knowledge about the rugby world cup. On this task we used our research skills and we found out what all the time zones where from the eight different countries we used we used the world timezone to find out about the time

Reading

L.I To learn and find our there petition where they play.
We had to put together the players and the position of the player. This teaches us about the rugby world cup.Thanks to LS2 making this it really helps us with our Rugby world cup challenge.

Inquiry

LI. To apply knowledge of simple machines to create a rube Goldberg machine.

For Inquiry we had to make a simple machine the simple machines my group used was incline plan,pulley and lever. we created them using a ruler,dominoes,Inquiry  and the wight blocks. The most challenging thing was to put every thing into order and to think about what we were about to use.The thing I would change is the car so we can swap it with a marble because it can roll down better.

Maths

L.I What is  Flip, Rotation, and Translation and Refection
We did the pencil code so we can figure out a way to get to the finish line with the bomb grid we also had to  make a screen castfiy our work when we finished.
We had to make our Owen bomb grid and do it on a website called pencil code  there were 3 ways turn right,turn left and move forward.
We made bombs in our coding this is a 6x6.
I learned how to Flip, Rotation, and Translation and Refection
how I learned by watching it over and seeing if I am going the right path way.

Swimming

LI.To learn water safety.
For swimming we were learning how to do water safety. The first thing we did was stream line and kicking. The next thing we did was straight legs under water while holding our breath. Then we did Rotations with the board. After that we were floating on our backs.Then we had to dive in the water with our boards and do arm circles.

we had to plan the advertisement and make a poster I wanted to sell a house and we had to write a poster and try and make our teacher buy what we wanted to sell to him.

We looked at 3 diffident types of challenges and wrote about our feelings when we face those challenges. We figured out coping strategies in groups of three.

Kiwi sport/Swimming

LI. To improve our swimming skills.

LI.To learn how to swim 
In Qianos group we were doing free style with a board and then we had to rotate on to our back after three strokes. After done back strokes but then we had to rotate half way. Then we were doing other things like stream line and streamline with kicking at the end. 

Writing Plan advertisment

LI: to create a persuasive advertisement.we have been learning about advertisement.
we had to plan the advertisement I wanted to sell was a house and we had to write emotive text to make them buy the thing we want to sell

LI To deal with challenges.

We need to practice dealing with challenges to have an easier future and to learn by experience to not make the same mistake. Our activity was Bus-Stop. In this game Mrs Mac had given us a piece of paper which we had to explain the pictures in various challenges.

Today for reading we read zapped and it was about reading about a robot and Ana and Tai was building a robot to clan things up and do there jobs for them and the used old things that they don't used any more and then the robot made a big mes in the kitchen and then the mum saw.

Duffy Assembly

For Duffy Assembly a new special person came to our school his name is Jamie wall
and told stuff about himself.He is an author he made a book called brothers in black. He made a movie to show us. The hole movie was about rugby. Then he was given a book called Men in black. The book is about everyone who played for the all back and every All blacks event and thing that go's on with All blacks. He has worked for News Hub,Maori TV and Stuff. and he has been to other couture's.

For math we were learning about Flip,slide,Turn Or Rotation,Reflection And Translation.We had to find a successful path to the finish box. Then we had to add the arrows to show the path.Next we had to write sentences to ex plane were the arrows are rotating or turning 90 clockwise or anticlockwise and by turning up,down,left and right.

Cybersmart

LI:To apply the print design rules.This week for cyber smart we are still learning about the print design rules, the print design rules is composition, layout, colour and text. We had to make a poster by ourselves using the print design rules, for help Mr Wong/our teacher wrote steps for us to follow while making our poster. We had to make our posters about one of the tools that we learnt in inquiry. I decided to make my poster about a wedge because I thought that it will be easier to write about a wedge.

LI. To learn deal with a challenge

For kiwi can we were learning about challenges.First for kiwi can we were talking about challenges that is what we call resilience. Resilience is (coping with challenges and bouncing back). Our catchphrase was ''kiwi can says don't go under,over it just go through it. Our theme was Resilience and our topic was dealing with challenges.

Energiser 
 The energiser was command that game we had six commands to do. while our teacher is calling them six to trick us to get us out. we had to copy what she says before doing it. our challenge was to try and to not get tricked by our kiwi can teacher.

Activity 
For our activity we had six shapes then we had to make a plus sign out of it. Then we were given a piece of paper to do our planning to see how to make the plus sign.
But then we had to make 3 groups of five to make the plus sign.


Challenge 
Then we were talking about challenges that was hard for us.And trying to not get distracted by other people.

Screw

LI: To identify a simple machine. 
This week for inquiry we had learnt the last of the 6 simple machines, the archimedes screw. A screw is a simple machine that can transfer soft and liquid things from a low point to a high point. It is bent on an axle depending on the force. We had made an archimedes screw using plastic pipes and a wooden stick. We worked in groups of fives to create this. We had to scoop water out of the bucket.

This week for writing we are doing describing thing.The thing i learnt was learning about how to describe things.What we had to do was that we had to  describe the picture that is on the slide and say word and making sentence.

This week for reading we were learning about What questions. We learned it by using the verbs in the picture. My groups had to do one slide the blog it for our reading. When were finished we had to carry on our other slides.
