Ancient Greek Olympics Presentation

LI. To give in presintaion on the acintent greek Oulmpics

Were ancient Olympic events any different from those of modern times? - EgyptToday

Last week, LS2 gave presentations to the class about what we know on the Ancient Greek Olympics. For this task, my group used Prezi to present and recorded a Screencastify to present to the class. Prezi is a good way to keep your audience entertained by animating the different areas of your slideshow.

We talked about what the Ancient Greek Olympics was and what took place on the five days of the Olympics. We also gave 5 fun facts about the Ancient Olympics.

I enjoyed this because it was fun to present and learn about the Ancient Greek Olympics as well. One fun fact that I learnt about the Ancient Greek Olympics was that one athlete trained by lifting a bull calf everyday until it was a full grown bull.

Summery of Te tiriti O whitangi

LI. To explain in fewer words what the text is about.

Today for reading  I read about the treaty of Waitangi. After that we made a summary about the treaty of waitangi. The treaty of Waitangi is a day of celebration to remember a historical day of peace where the treaty was signed by the chiefs. In this activity we got to learn more about the Treaty of Waitangi and about why it was signed by chiefs so New Zealand could be a part of the British. One fact that I found interesting was how the treaty was split into 3 parts

Reading

This week for reading  did a table mat, synthesis and a making connection.

For the first task we did a table mat. For that we needed to find 4 facts, 3 keywords and 2 key question. We also had to define one word from the 3 keywords.

The second ask we did was making connections. For this task we needed to making 2 connections for text to self, text to text and text to world.

The last task we did was synthesis for that task we needed to write our prior knowledge. Next we wrote our new information. The last thing we did was write our new understandings.

SSR Selfie

My book was called Why do bears go fishing. It was created by Miles Kelly. It was a non fiction. This book was about bears. One of the three facts I found out was that brown bears can charge upto 50 kilometers. But the main topic was bears fishing. The most interesting thing that I learnt about the book is that the sun bear has the longest tongue out of all bears.

Connections/Reading

LI. To identify and describe the connections.

A Connection is a similar idea as something else. These are three main connections.
Text to self, text to text, text to world.

Text to self is what happened in the book that has happened to you. For example: In the story The Gruffalo the little brown mouse is brave. My connection is that I am brave to go to get help from the teachers.

Text to text is when something that has happened in the story that has happened in another story.
For example: In the story The Gruffalo the gruffalo is a giant and also ugly. My connection is that the BFG is big and ugly.

Text to world something that has happened in the story that happenes in the world. For example: In the story The gruffalo the mother squirrel found nuts for her kids to eat. My connection is that parents around the world buy food for their kids to eat.
