Food Technology

LI. To make smoothie and a fruit salad

Today we went to Tamaki College for our first lesson of tech. For tech the year 7 did food technology with Mrs Heka. For food tech we learned how to make smoothies and fruit salads. Before we started cooking we got splitted into groups of three. After getting into groups we got a quick rundown on how to use the utensils.

After Mrs Heka explaining to us about the utensils we started preparing to cook. The first thing we on was peeling the skin off some fruit and dicing them up. Next we added one cup of milk and one cup of yogurt. The next thing we did was blend the yogurt and the milk. Next we put all of the fruits in our cups. Then had another cup of smoothies.

Why is it important to be hydrated

L.I To understand why staying hydrated is important for our health and our learning.

Hydration means you are having plenty of water and dehydration means you're losing water from your body.

Today we did an activity that’s about hydration and dehydration. We had to find information about the importance of hydration and why we are sometimes dehydrated. We used three websites to help find information. Once we found all the information we put the information into our DLO.

The fact we thought was interesting is that water delivers nutrients to our cells. Another fact we found interesting was that water can also help our organs function properly.

What is Leadership

Our task was about defining what a team is, leadership, role model, and responsibility. This was done in a group. Next we wrote down what we think a leader is and then write a paragraph that uses 25 words. We then copied it on to a google drawing so we can explain our words and paragraphs.

Pie chart

This week for maths me and my group made a pie chart that shows which sport the students in LS2 likes.

We learned that the most liked sport in LS2  was rugby and that the least favorite sports were netball, tennis and mma.

We then also created a DLO showing our PIE chart.

Next we wrote information about our pie chart so our reader and ourselves understand what we learned,

what we did and what was the most favorite sport.

This was a fun and cool activity.

Summery of Te tiriti O whitangi

LI. To explain in fewer words what the text is about.

Today for reading  I read about the treaty of Waitangi. After that we made a summary about the treaty of waitangi. The treaty of Waitangi is a day of celebration to remember a historical day of peace where the treaty was signed by the chiefs. In this activity we got to learn more about the Treaty of Waitangi and about why it was signed by chiefs so New Zealand could be a part of the British. One fact that I found interesting was how the treaty was split into 3 parts
