For writing we had to describe the photos using features languages. I described a baby eating a mud cake.

SSR Selfie

This week the book that I read was called Ricky and Mighty Robot. This book talks about who they are and what they did. The main Story is about Ricky and Mighty Robot saving the City from the bad monkeys. I enjoy this story not because it is made up. Because It had a lot of detail to it. I really want to read this book again.

 

Basic fact boxes

For basic fact boxes I did up 10 speed demon. It took 3 minutes and 33 seconds to answer every box
I think I can go faster next time I do this. My goal is to reach up to 2 minutes.

Reading| Fact Find

Today I was talking about Steve Matai he was a positional rugby League player he use to play for the Sea eagles. He was one of the best talkers, his nickname was Shoulders.

Kiwi can

For kiwi can we were talking about role models and what it is. Next we were talking about why do we look up to them. After that we went into our energizer it was called Hamer it's when you have to have your fist our then someone else has to say up,down or hamer if they say any of them then the people with their fist out go up,down or hamer. It means you have to slam your fist down to the other person that has their fist out under you. After that we went right into our activity it was called x vs o.

For SSR Selfie we had to retell what the book was about and what the main topic is. The book that I chose was super cars the book is about cars that a fast. Then after that we had to take a photo of the book.

Reading

For find fact we had to think of someone then explain information about the person. The person that I was talking about was Latrell Mitchell. He is a rugby league player for Rabbitohs.

This week we were talking about simple sentences. A simple sentences is 1 complete thought. Example: I like kicking. That is 1 simple sentence because he saying what he likes.

LI To Create a Tessellation from 2D shapes

Tessellation is a piece of art work using patterns. First we had to use a shape and use it wisely.
The shape that I used was a triangle. Next we had to try and put our shapes into patterns. when we finished we had to go on a site called colour combos then chose

First waka

Originally there were no people in New Zealand the first people to settle in New Zealand come in a series of waka. 

The first ten waka named Kurahaupō,Tainui,Mataatua,Tākitimu,Ārai-te-uru,Te Arawa,Te Arawa,Tokomaru,Horouta,Uruao

Most of the waka visited the North Island. Some of the places the waka landed at were.
Te Awanui,Tauranga Moana and Waiapu River.

The ten waka came to New Zealand to discover new lands for people to live.

Inter school sport

This week we had Inter school sport for cricket we had to play 5 school's. It was bailey road, Tamaki, stone field 1 and 2   then we played glen bray. we lost 3 and won 2. we came 4 on the leader boad. the biggest hit that I made was the 6 runs. I had so much fun at Cricket because its my first time playing

For SSR Selfie I read a book called Big machines on the road. This book is about different trucks and what it does. I learnt somethings that I never new before about trucks.

Kiwi can

For Kiwi can we played 'bop the cone' to practices listening for instructions. We also played 'chines weispers' to practices listening and hearing information. I thought whispers was a good way to practices our listening skills.     

Kiwi sport

LI. To learn the basics of rippa rugby.

For kiwi sport we spit into two teams. Then we started off with a passing drill when we had to run to a cone then pass it to the other person then the person has to pass it back. Then that person had to run then zigzag across the cones. The first team that finnish wins then gets to start with the ball when we start to play a game. Then we were given a colour the colors are green and red. First the red team was leading by 3 points then the green team cached up to 3 points. SO then it ended up with a draw

Kupe & Cook

LI. Learn about Captain James cook & Kupe.

Kupe and Cook are 2 impotent explorers In New Zealand history. Kupe was a Maori explorer who discovered NZ. He arrived 1100’s. because he wanted to find a new place for his people. He arrived on a Traditional sail boat.

Captain James Cook was a British explorer who was sent to search the Pacific ocean.
He arrived to new Zealand on 1769 the 6 of October. He arrived to New Zealand on Endeavor. He died on the February the 14th 1779.

Kupe is important because he was the first documented person in NZ. Cook is important
because he mapped NZ and opened it up to the world to access.   

What is compound sentence

This week we extended our sentence understanding to what is a compound sentence.
First we watched a video showing how compound sentence is 2 thoughts on a subject joined with a conjunction.Next we learnt that FANBOYS are conjunctions to join sentences. It stands for  (For,nor,but,or,yet,so)We then tested our understanding by recording mixed up sentences. I have a created this DLO which I hope helps your understanding.

Retelling a text is a impotent Strategy to show understanding.

Retelling uses keywords to focus on impotent details. Ordering Keywords helps retell the information in an easy to follow way. Retelling help showing understanding by putting the text in your own words.Retelling helps us understanding if we have understanding everything that has been read.

This week we had four rotation one was we had to count on with an abacus. second we had to research the shapes that we said. next we had to make a team Logo using shapes.This task we had to do think boards. For think boards we had to do a number line, a story problem, basic addition and story problems the equation was 38 + 50 = ? I knew that 5 + 3 = 8 so  38 + 50 = 88.

Rippa Rugby

LI. Learn the basics of Rippa rugby.

This week LS1 and Room 5 went down to the Auckland Marist field to learn the basics of rippa rugby. First we started off with some drills our drills was passing the ball and shouting names out. Next we decided to play a game we had to rip everyones tag then the last person to with their tag still on them wins we had two round of that game then we played rippa rugby so we split up into boys vs girls. First the boys had the color green and the girls had the color red then after that it was a tie

Explorers and Adventurers are people who travel and discover new thing.

or the community such as Leif Enikson,Robert Ballard,Neil Armstrong, Takuya Onishi, Kupe, Dora, Moana, Sir David Attenborough ,Sylvia Earle

Adventurers are people who travel to take part in something for themselves 

such as James Cook,Ferdinand Magellan,Sir Edmund Hillary,Jean Batten,Bear Grylls,
Sir Peter Blake, Zheng He.

Explorers and Adventurers  need to ave or show many different attitudes and attributes 

such as being a thinker is good because It's good to be a thinker because you can over become problems faster.  Both  Explores and Adventures travel to new places and need similar qualities although their goals are different.

A legal is an image that can be used with permission by law.

Image creators give legal permission to use their images by adding a sharing license.

It is important to use legal images to help creators, and  so users  don't get in trouble.

When users see an image that they like then check the licences on the image to see if they have
permission to use it.

Today I finished my SSR selfie we had to read our book for 15 minutes then we had to retell the book on a google slide.

Simple Sentence

This week we learnt what a simple was. First we  watched a video which explained what a simple sentence is. Next our group had to reorder mixed up sentences. The we had to write 5 of our own simple sentence. I created a mixed up simple sentence slide for others to use. I look forward to other using my simple sentences.

Keywords

This week we had to use our books big machines on the road and find keywords to unlock information.

First we needed to read our book. Next we needed  to make a list of key words. Lastly we needed to think of all the information that word unlocks as a reminder. I feel really happy and I enjoy learning about trucks. I learnt that trucks can carry an house.
