Maths problems
LI. To solve multiplication word problems with a factor than greater than 10.
To solve a maths problem that is outside the times table range.
First step is to write the number sentences. For example: 13 x 3 = ?
The second step is to break up the number. For example: 13 = 10 + 3.
The third step is to multiply the 10 and 3 with the second factor. For example: (10 x 3) (3 x 3).
The fourth step is to add all the answers. For example: (3 x 10 =30 ) (3 x 3 =9 ) 30 + 9 = 39.
The fifth step is to write the number the number sentence but with the answers. For example: 13x3=39
The last step is to write the word problem. For example: In 3 seconds, Kevin can dribble a basketball 13 times. If Kevin dribbles at this same rate for 27 seconds, How many times will he dribble the basketball?

Inquiry
LI. To assess risk within a simple activity.
For Inquiry we did a group task about risk assessment.
We recapped the definition about what a hazard and risk is. A hazard is things that could cause harm to people, properties and the environment. A risk is something that will cause harm to people, properties and the environment.
Next we made a safety plan. We listed what the activity is, number of students, class level and where the location is.
Then we had to answer questions like what would go wrong, what will cause it to go wrong, how would we prevent it.
I found this activity challenging because we had to come up with alot of consequences.

Connections/Reading
LI. To identify and describe the connections.
A Connection is a similar idea as something else. These are three main connections.
Text to self, text to text, text to world.
Text to self is what happened in the book that has happened to you. For example: In the story The Gruffalo the little brown mouse is brave. My connection is that I am brave to go to get help from the teachers.
Text to text is when something that has happened in the story that has happened in another story.
For example: In the story The Gruffalo the gruffalo is a giant and also ugly. My connection is that the BFG is big and ugly.
Text to world something that has happened in the story that happenes in the world. For example: In the story The gruffalo the mother squirrel found nuts for her kids to eat. My connection is that parents around the world buy food for their kids to eat.
