This week we made our own skin profile. We used a app where you could create your own skin. The app we used allowed us to choose our gender and what pants, body and head looks like. As you can see My main Skin charater is the one with the black helmet with red stripes. When I strated to create my charater I went for a racer that holds a dagger on his back. I really enjoy doing this task beacuse you can come up with the most creative skin.
I am a Year 7 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

Mindfulness reflextion #1
LI: To practise mindfulness.
Today, we focused on mindfulness and having a peaceful mental well-being. Sometimes, our mind isn’t concentrating well and is doing something called ‘mind wandering’. We calmed ourselves down by using the Pause, Breathe and Smile method.
Mindfulness is calming your body and your mind, focusing on your mental health, focusing on what’s happening right now, removing the negativity from your mind and being mindful of yourself and others. Mindfulness is a way to balance the 4 pillars of your hauora.
Often in a frustrating situation, our mind enters the red zone. The red zone is when we feel angry, anxious, frustrated, irritable, stressed, overly excited, worried, distracted or any other negative emotion that we usually cannot control. We use a mindfulness technique which helps us to be calm, clear, content, balanced, peaceful, relaxed, curious and engaged in what we are doing.
This session of mindfulness was helpful because it can help yourself and others become calm in stressful situations as well as focus on what is happening right now and being aware of your emotions.

Key Competencies
LI: To compare the Key Competencies we think we will use on camp and the Key Competencies we actually used.
Before we went to camp our challenge was to think about when we might use the Key Competencies as we faced the challenges. When we came back from camp we looked at this and compared how we thought we would use the Key Competencies and how we actually used them.
I found this activity fun because I got to see my old and new reflextion

Camp Brochure
LI: To create a brochure that informs people about Kokako Lodge
In our activity groups for camp, we created an inside and outside brochure to advertise Kokako Lodge. We included distance between Auckland to Kokako Lodge, information about the activities, photos of student experience, catering and cabins.
They provide free beds and have various activities to do and challenge yourself with. There are 6 cabins that hold up to 14 people, which is almost definitely capable of holding multiple crowds of people.
We focused on providing information that sells Kokako Lodge, which means it catches people’s interest and makes them want to stay there.
We enjoyed creating this brochure and being able to test our creativity with advertising and comprehension skills.
Camp Collage
LI. To create a collage using some of the photos from camp.
The photos that was used in the DLO was taken from camp. Each and one of them were from diffrent activities. There were high beam, archery, kayaking, raft building, great pancake race and camp cooking. In each photo was me, this collage represents the memories I had at camp and reminds me of the fun things we did there at Kokako Lodge.
Exploring the Water
LI. To inform others about a certain 5 minutes of camp
Activity group 2 went down to the Hunua falls. At Hunua ranges we saw the waterfall. I was so terrified looking at the waterfall crashing down on the rocks. The activity was our choice, our challenge. We walked down the path to our challenge.
“Click” the helmet fits perfectly on my head. Another “Click” came about as I put my life jacket on perfectly. I was ready to take on my challenge. I was going to kayak on the water and overcome my fear. “Go Texas!” my group said encouragingly. I felt a sense of relief with my group behind my back.
I grabbed my paddle, my hands were shaking, my body wet from the life jacket used by the previous group. “You can do this texas” I thought, I gained up all of my courage, ‘splash’ one side of the paddle went in the water. Another “splash” came as the other side of the paddle went down in the water. As I kept paddling I got the hang of it and I felt great about it.

PB4L
LI. To learn understand how to leave the classroom the right way
Today for our home learning we did our PB4L in this activity we maid a DLO about keeping safe when there is a fire alarm. Why is it important to let the teacher know you are going to the bathroom, why is it important to use hand sanitizer, what to do when a fire alarm goes off and why is it important to let the teacher know before you leave the classroom.
One reason why it's important to let the teacher know you're going to the bathroom, because if you don’t it could cause many problems. Like if there was a fire alarm the teacher wouldn’t know where you are, which would make your teacher and your parents worried.
This activity was fun and cool. We had a really enjoyable experience doing this task.

Giant Pandas
LI. To use our smart searching skills to find information about the Giant Panda.
First we used our smart searching skills to find information about the Giant Panda. We noted down where they live, their threats, and what they eat. Also we wrote down facts we found. We used our notes to help us with the DLO that we created.
We found this activity fun because we were researching together to find information about the Giant Pandas. It was a really enjoyable experience with each other.
What we found quite hard was not understanding what to put in the DLO but we got help from our amazing teacher Mrs Anderson.
We enjoyed collaborating together and getting the note making finished.
We found three facts interesting. One fact that we found interesting was that Giant Pandas are carnivores but their diet is like herbivores. The next fact we found interesting was that pandas have to eat 20 to 40 pounds of bamboo so they can get by(manage with difficulty to live).

Cultural Art
Today this art was inspired by Raku Inoue. For this task we had to go outside and collect leaves, petals and twigs and create our own culture pattern. For my art I created a dragonfly I collected 4 leaves one sharp stick, 2 twigs and 4 flowers.
This task for me was really hard because I had to go outside and try to find sticks and leaves. But at the same time I enjoyed making my own design using sticks and leaves.

Food Technology
LI. To make smoothie and a fruit salad
Today we went to Tamaki College for our first lesson of tech. For tech the year 7 did food technology with Mrs Heka. For food tech we learned how to make smoothies and fruit salads. Before we started cooking we got splitted into groups of three. After getting into groups we got a quick rundown on how to use the utensils.
After Mrs Heka explaining to us about the utensils we started preparing to cook. The first thing we on was peeling the skin off some fruit and dicing them up. Next we added one cup of milk and one cup of yogurt. The next thing we did was blend the yogurt and the milk. Next we put all of the fruits in our cups. Then had another cup of smoothies.

Next Ngarimu was talking to us about the weaponry and Kingi was talking to us about the inner carvings in the wharenui. As we were finding the questions kingi and Ngarimu added 4 more questions. Today we did a task called kawa of care. We had to find all the top keyboard shortcuts. For example ctrl z is a shortcut for backspace. Why is it important to be hydrated
Hydration means you are having plenty of water and dehydration means you're losing water from your body.
Today we did an activity that’s about hydration and dehydration. We had to find information about the importance of hydration and why we are sometimes dehydrated. We used three websites to help find information. Once we found all the information we put the information into our DLO.
The fact we thought was interesting is that water delivers nutrients to our cells. Another fact we found interesting was that water can also help our organs function properly.
What is Leadership
Our task was about defining what a team is, leadership, role model, and responsibility. This was done in a group. Next we wrote down what we think a leader is and then write a paragraph that uses 25 words. We then copied it on to a google drawing so we can explain our words and paragraphs.

Pie chart
This week for maths me and my group made a pie chart that shows which sport the students in LS2 likes.
We learned that the most liked sport in LS2 was rugby and that the least favorite sports were netball, tennis and mma.
We then also created a DLO showing our PIE chart.
Next we wrote information about our pie chart so our reader and ourselves understand what we learned,
what we did and what was the most favorite sport.
This was a fun and cool activity.
