LI. To Learn about Venus Williams.
For summer learning journey we had to list 3 or more facts about Venus Williams. we had to watch one or two videos to find out facts about Venus Williams.

10 thing to take on a boat

LI. to learn about perishable and non perishable foods.
For Task 1 we had to make a google docs and list 10 thinning to take on a boat.  We learnt about perishable and non perishable foods. We researched more about them because we have to take non perishable food so that we can have it for a long time.

Family

L.I to learn where I come from.
For task 2 we had to use the google map and tag where our family comes from. My mum comes from Samoa and my dad comes from Tonga. We had to talk about our cultural background.

LI. To write about one time I was brave
For Task 6 We had to write about one time we were brave. One time my uncle tolled me to go in my Odder cousins team. I feared over this by just doing it. This was scary because I was the smallest and youngest there.

Haiku

L.I to make a poem.
For task 3 we had to make a poem about taking the first step on the moon. We had to be creative because we were making poems. We could make any type of poem. I made a haiku that is about taking the first step on the moon. For me if I really did step on the moon it would be amazing but weird because I never done it before.

L.I to learn about the past. For task 4 we had to research about Jean Batten and Amelia Earhart. We had to research about them because we were doing a venn diagram that compares and shows the differences between two people. Both of these woman had flown solo which means that they had flown a plane by them self.

My Dream Job

For summer learning journey we had to make a poster about what our dream job. My dream job is to join the military. I wanted to join because I always use to were military clothes and always use to buy a lot of guns but then I just gave them to my cousins.

Athletics

For athletics we were at the cluster day. We went up against other schools. We started off with the 400 meters sprints. We then went on to the girls starting on field events and boys on track. We then switched. That mean boys are on the field. And the girls when on the race tracks. In my sprints The first race I came second. So then I made it into the finals but I came 4th but I was still happy

Reading

LI. To comprehend Fiction text.
For reading we had to read a book then answer all the questions and retell the story. The book I read was Mud pony.

kiwi sport - Doubles Tennis

LI. to play doubles tennis.
Doubles tennis is when two players play in one whole square. Both players on each team should have turns at hitting the ball. The person closer to the ball should hit the ball. We practiced by playing doubles.

Writing

LI. To add a speech to a narrative.
For writing we had to go on theses slides then make a comet on it. And it had to be funny and interesting.

   

Maths

For maths we were making paper airplanes. Then we were learning about measurement. We did this by measuring then length the wing span. Then then we had to test how far our airplanes flew. And how long it takes. We then used this data to create a google sheet and make our graph.

LI. To lean how to be patient.

For kiwi can we had to talk about being patient. First we played a game called snap and escape. So first we had to put our hand out as flat like a pancake.Then we had to put our first two fingers on the other persons flat hand. And the person that is not playing had to choice a word then he had to make a story then when they said the word then the people that had their hand flat had to grab the persons the had his two fingers on it. Then the person that had two fingers on the flat had had to try and escape.
Then then the next game was we had to spit up into two lines then the kiwi can teacher had to squeeze the person that is in the back then the person that got his solder squeezed had to squeeze the last persons solder then we had to run and grab the cones. Then we played another game called the end of the road. its like a GKQ game but two people stand up then the other person will say a question and who ever lost had to sit down the then person that won will still stand up to vs the next person and it will go on until the group run out of people.

LI. To learning how to Serve.

For kiwi sport we learnt how to Serve. serve is when we had to hit the ball first to our opponent to start the game. Then we had to swing our rackets to were the ball is then hit it but softy. Next we had to backhand then forward hand then hit the ball. Then we had to have four groups then hit it to each other.

For kiwi sport we were learning how to serve the ball. First we started off by vising each other and by hitting the ball softy and trying to hit the cones. Then we had to aim withe our hand then we had to throw it were our hands were pointing.Then we had to serve the ball but this time we had to hit it with the racket.

For kiwi we were learning how to use respectful communication. First we play a game We had to put one or two hand at the back of our back then we ad to put out how many fingers you want then you have to count your fingers and you friend fingers then you add them up then you say how many their is. The we played another game we had to put cones in the front of us then we had to listen to the music then we had to grab the cone when we are fished

Paper Airplane

LI. To make a paper airplane.
For math we were making paper airplanes. First we had to read the book to see the instruction. Then we had to go off and make our own. the airplane I made was called vortex.Then We when on to a slide. that had all of the instructions so we didn't have to read the book all the time.My airplane only took 5 minutes to finish it.

LI. To comprehend Fiction text.
For reading we had to read a book then answer all the questions and retell the story about the book and the book I read was No more warts

What sport people will like best

LI. To use statistics to answer questions

The week for maths We had to go around asking people what they like the best. The options I was doing was Basketball,rugby,netball,touch,other. and make a graph to show the result.

My favorite sport is rugby because of the taking and ruining I have been playing it for four years.
I show it by using a tally chart and  a graph.

        

Touch

For touch we played 7 games the first game we vised Tamika primary we won by 3 points but we were all happy.The next game we were vising point England we also won that round we but for the other game we thought we were not going to be in the show offs but at the same time we were still happy.  For this round it got a bit hard because we vied Panmure district but is was a draw instill my friend tried. so we won 5 drawled two. But we were so happy because we made it to the show offs we vised point England but this time it was different people but we lost but we were still happy because our team came second out of all the teams but still we were happy.

For kiwi can were talking about respectful communication. Then for our energizer we played rock,paper,scissors we had two chansons two win. So we had to do rock,paper,scissors then if we get out then we go on our knees but if we play the other people that are on their knees and we lose the we are out. But if we beat someone that is on their knees then we get to Stan back up. our activate we had to split up into groups but the game we had to play was animal chori their were 4 animals Pig,tiger,dog,cat I was in the tiger group we had to sing tiger,tiger,tiger Ra Ra Ra.

For maths we had to find out was to make the answer. Then we were given maths problem and try to solve them. I did it by the 2 main numbers and using addition and multiplication and geting the answer. Then I had to show how to solve it.

For reading we had to read a book then answer all the questions and retell the story about the book and the book I read was the Baby's breakfast By Margaret Mahy

Cybersmart

For Cyber smart we were learning about legal and illegal we had to find out the legal images and the illegal.and find out appropriate websites of images. You might go on a site where there is inappropriate images like Flickr. If you want to put a picture on your work you and it's not free first you should always look at the license. if it says All rights reserved your not allowed to use the photo.

Coach-peter

For our warm up we had to get into pairs. one person had to throw the ball while the other person was trying to hit the ball softly back to them.

Then we learnt a technique with our right hand on the bottom and the left on the top but if they throw right then only the right hand swings and hit it. and if they throw it to the left the two hands swing.

Writing

LI: to retell a narrative. 
This week for writing, we were learning about writing stories. Our story was about the three little pigs. We had to write the whole story if we wanted to or we can just work as a group and get it finished

For kiwi can we were recapping about what we did last week and how to treat yourself. for our energizer we played a game we had to get into four groups and one of the leader had to go to the teacher and get instructions and to remember of what we had to do then the leader will tell the whole group what to do. Then for our activity was to play GKQ master when we had to go a round the world and trying to eliminate people by answering questions.

For kiwi can we were learning about respect. Then we played a game called vs is when we had to pick what is better example if you had to choice to chose spaghetti or bake beans then if you like bake bean then go on one side but if you like the other then you go on the other side. then after that we played wisdom and might wisdom is when you find the answer of riddles and might is when you had to sit on each others laps and the other and the other one was we had to make a human triangle preeminent. Then we play 1 round of GK Q but in a circle. 
     

Writing

For writing we had to write a recount and practices simple  compound sentens then we made a recount about a game called  steady sticks. Then we had to one more recount and then it had to be longer

LI. To Identify the number before and after numbers from 100-1000

For math we had to round pencils and the length of them. then we had to make a graph and we had to pencils to measure how long it was.

LI.To create a quiz using the book
For reading we had to read a book and make a quiz master using ideas from the book to make question.

LI. To learn about the Maori gods on earth.
For Maori we had to make a group then we were given a activity to find out who were the god. then we had to find out what there Match what they were god of.

LI.To Treat other people how they and to be treated 

For Kiwi Can our theme this term is respect. You should show respect to other people and family members it is also good to treat them how they want to be treated. If you treat someone bad that means they might think that you want to be treated badly. 

For our energizer we were playing apple,banana and orange. 

The commands were Orange banana  Apple. orange was when you had to jump backwards and apple was when you had to jump forward and the last one was we had to jump and turn 180

 For our activity we had to tell one truth and a lie about our self's then the other people had to guess what the the lie was and what was true.

 

Swimming/kiwi sport

LI. To learn about water safety

For our last swimming lesson we were learning how to use a live jacket.A live jacket helps us to swim and float and it saves us from drowning. Then we had to spit into one whole group. Then we had to make a chain using everyone.The next thing we did was swim from one side to the other using live jacket. Then we had to put our hand at the back of our heads and put our other hand next to our arm then we pencil dived in the water.

LI: To apply Inquiry, Literacy, and numeracy skills to learn about the RWC.

This week we are applying our knowledge about the rugby world cup. On this task we used our research skills and we found out what all the time zones where from the eight different countries we used we used the world timezone to find out about the time

Reading

L.I To learn and find our there petition where they play.
We had to put together the players and the position of the player. This teaches us about the rugby world cup.Thanks to LS2 making this it really helps us with our Rugby world cup challenge.

Inquiry

LI. To apply knowledge of simple machines to create a rube Goldberg machine.

For Inquiry we had to make a simple machine the simple machines my group used was incline plan,pulley and lever. we created them using a ruler,dominoes,Inquiry  and the wight blocks. The most challenging thing was to put every thing into order and to think about what we were about to use.The thing I would change is the car so we can swap it with a marble because it can roll down better.

L.I What is  Flip, Rotation, and Translation and Refection

We did the pencil code so we can figure out a way to get to the finish line with the bomb grid we also had to  make a screen castfiy our work when we finished.

We had to make our Owen bomb grid and do it on a website called pencil code  there were 3 ways turn right,turn left and move forward.

We made bombs in our coding this is a 6x6.
